The article published in the March 28 edition of The Hindu, titled 'U.S. cables show grand calculations underlying 2005 defence framework', covers a very significant period of modern India in which the Congress-led UPA government led the country decisively into the US strategic orbit, writes D. Raghunandan of the Delhi Science Forum. This process is still very much on, sometimes openly, but more often than not through the backdoor.
