"Recognise MSEU, take back retrenched workers"

This is a press release from representatives of the Students' Federation of India, Democratic Youth Federation of India and the Janwadi Mahila Samiti, who protested in front of the Maruti Suzuki headquarters in New Delhi in solidarity with striking Maruti Suzuki workers.

 
Hundreds of students, youth and women protested in solidarity with striking Maruti Suzuki workers at the MSIL corporate headquarters at Vasant Kunj today. A united workforce from the Maruti Suzuki plant in Manesar, the Suzuki Powertrain and Suzuki Motorcycles Ltd are courageously continuing their sit-in protest in Manesar demanding reinstatement of retrenched workers and recognition of their independent union, Maruti Suzuki Employees Union. We, the assembled activists at Vasant Kunj expressed our solidarity through evocative slogans such as "Recognise MSEU, take back retrenched workers", "No WagonRs without workers' hands, No Zen without workers' brains and No Esteem without workers' union", "Which side are you on, Mr. Hooda" and many others.
 
We want the workers' demands to be heeded by the "vindictive and arrogant" company management. We also demand that the Haryana State government stop acting against the workers' interests and to immediately recognise their demands for an independent union. The protest has been jointly organised by the Student Federation of India, the Democratic Youth Federation of India and the Janwadi Mahila Samiti.

छात्रों, युवाओं और महिलाओं ने वसंत कुंज में मारुति सुजुकी 
(MSIL ) के  कार्पोरेट मुख्यालय पर मानेसर संयंत्र में आज हड़ताली कर्मचारियों के साथ एकजुटता में विरोध प्रदर्शन  किया. मारुति सुजुकी के मानेसर संयंत्र, सुजुकी powertrain और सुजुकी मोटरसाइकिल लिमिटेड से एक संयुक्त कार्यबल हड़ताल जारी रखे हुए हैं. वे श्रमिकों की छँटनी और स्वतंत्र मारुति सुजुकी कर्मचारी संघ की मान्यता नहीं दिए जाने के विरोध में बैठे हैं. वसंत कुंज में इकट्ठे कार्यकर्ताओं के मजदूरों के पक्ष में क्रांतिकारी नारे गूँज उठे. "MSEU पहचानो, वापस छंटनी किए गए श्रमिकों को लो", "कार्यकर्ताओं के हाथ के  बिना, WagonRs नहीं! श्रमिकों के दिमाग के  बिना ZEN नहीं,   यूनियन के बिना कोई ESTEEM नहीं" जैसे विचारोत्तेजक नारों के माध्यम से हमारी एकजुटता व्यक्त की. यह भी पुछा गया की "किस तरफ आप खादें हैं श्री हुड्डा?"
 
हम कंपनी management के "खुन्दकी और घमंडी" रवैये के खिलाफ मजदूरों के मांगों को पूरा करने का आह्वान करतें हैं. हम यह भी मांग करते हैं कि हरियाणा राज्य सरकार मजदूरों के हितों के खिलाफ कार्यवाई बंद करे और एक स्वतंत्र संघ के लिए उनकी मांगों को तुरंत मंज़ूर करे. विरोध संयुक्त रूप से SFI, DYFI , JMS  द्वारा आयोजित किया गया है.
