Chirashree, the term 'sectarian' was not used in my post to refer to Vidya as a person. It was alluded to the CPI(M)'s political line, IF it chooses not to ally with regional parties on the basis of their being anti-worker or pro-MNC without taking into consideration the ground realities in each state and at all- India level. Let me quote from my post:
" In short, since the political struggle by the CPI(M) is broad-based, it has to be pragmatic and realistic, taking into
consideration of the complex political, economic and social conditions that obtain in India at present , NOT A SECTARIAN ONE
as you suggestively question". (Emphasis mine)
I used the term 'sectarian' not for a malal fide purpose to attribute it to Vidya but to highlight that the CPI(M)'s line can not be a sectarian one. If you read my opening lines, you would have read that I respected Vidya for "being pro-Left voter". As such, there was no disregard to Vidya as a person.
I don't see any thing provocative in the term I used except to give positive emphasis to the present political-tactical line of the CPI(M) of broad-based resistance to the policies of the ruling class. If you still judge that I was not right in my choice of words, I will re-phrase my concluding para as under:
" In short, since the political struggle by the CPI(M) is broad-based, it has to be pragmatic and realistic, taking into
consideration of the complex political, economic and social conditions that obtain in India at present , not a sectarian one."
